Good morning and welcome back!
Today is a minimum day.
Please grab your notebooks as you come in and have out your brainstorming HW!!
Here is today's agenda:
1. Warm up: in the "My Poetry" section of your notebook, brainstorm a list of FIVE people you could address your letter to.
2. Activity: today you are going to work on your letter rough draft. This may be done in the "My Poetry" section of your notebook.
Before you begin, decide what TONE you want to create in your letter-sad, happy, reflective, distant, angry.
Paragraph 1: begin your letter by sharing the background of your memory (when, where, and with whom did it occur). Explain why this memory is important/special to you.
Paragraphs 2-3: using SENSORY DETAILS, describe that memory to me using your sense of sight, taste, touch, and smell.
Your sensory details need to SHOW me not TELL me what it is you remember from that memory. Don't just tell me the sun looked yellow-what kind of yellow? Bright like a sunflower? Yellow like wildfire? BE CREATIVE.
HW: Complete your rough draft and BRING YOUR NOTEBOOKS BACK TOMORROW.
