Hello wonderful English students!

Here is what we have going today:

-Make sure you turn in your prepositions homework from last night!-

1.  Small group: SOAPSTONE practice

Today, you will be practicing SOAPSTONE in groups of five (I will number you off for groups)

Each group will need a pack of markers and one piece of chart paper. You may push the desks together to complete the work.

I will assign a poem-song to each of the groups. Using SOAPSTONE, you will read the poem as a group and make a chart (like the one on the board) and analyze the poem.

At the bottom of the chart, your group needs to EXPLAIN in complete sentences what you think the poem means!!!

HW: You will practice SOAPSTONE on your own tonight using the poem "Dusting." Read the poem and respond. BE THOUGHTFUL and use complete sentences, look beyond the "surface" meaning of the poem!
